About Us

The 3 Core Elements:

The mobile communications arena is constantly growing and the associated infrastructures, transmission spectrum, integrated technologies and devices expanding at an almost exponential rate. With 5G offering increased data rates and device connectivity, lower latency, etc. and all the associated benefits then it’s even more important to know about the latest developments.

As a Global Certification Forum (GCF) Recognised Test Organisation (RTO) and with years of cellular device testing on live networks IoTAS have built up a formidable database of Network information which we refer to as our ‘Network Intelligence’.

IoTAS is also an active contributor to the GCF Field Trial Agreement Group (FTAG), presenting the infrastructure analysis. This quarterly analysis helps to track and monitor the maturity of technologies available across GCF operators. Identifying any gaps where there may not be suitable infrastructure available to meet the desired criteria outlined by the GCF.

When Customers are discussing their testing requirements with us, they expect us to know about the Operator networks, the infrastructure supporting the services, coverage and test routes. They want to know what services are available across SIMs and if we can offer or source these items. Fundamentally they want to know that ‘we know’ how to support them and have the confidence to place their orders with us.

The Network Intelligence database comprises three core elements:

Network Infrastructure Core

  • All GCF Annex B Documentation, released by the Network Operators is tracked and maintained
  • Technologies and the Frequency Bands, supported by The Network Operators are recorded
  • Infrastructure (Manufacturer) and Carrier Aggregation combinations
  • Supported features i.e., VoLTE, VoWiFi, ViLTE, RCS etc. are captured

Without these key elements Live Network testing cannot be planned and executed with the highest guarantee of success.

Network Correspondence Core

  • All correspondence relating to technical specifications, modifications and ‘issues’ are recorded, whether relating to GCF or non-GCF (Open Market, MVNO, etc.) applications

Network Approvals Core

  • IoTAS track information regarding Network Approval processes in the UK/EU, Australia, US and LATAM where available and in the instances where this information is deemed ‘company confidential’ then we can consult and act as an intermediary during Operator discussions.

Our involvement in the GCF allows us to forge relationships with manufactures, operators, and other testing organisations all of which contribute to our network intelligence.
